I spoke with Sonam. Here is the transcript. (my email forward to you failed).
info: You are now chatting with Sonam.
Laurie Wachter: Hi Sonam. We talked once before.
info: Your chat transcript will be sent to *****@lwachter.com at the end of your chat.
Sonam: Hi Laurie.
Sonam: Welcome to Adobe.
Laurie Wachter: I was getting ready to publish my site and was having a problem with the accordion widget when Muse wiped out ALL content from my site. The only thing that remained was the plan layout.
Sonam: Yes, we have.
Laurie Wachter: I hope you're doing well.
Sonam: All right, and you do not have the content saved anywhere?
Sonam: I am, how about you?
Laurie Wachter: I did save an earlier version but was hoping I could retrieve the wiped info. Also am concerned about why it happened.
Laurie Wachter: I'm really good except for this problem!
Sonam: All right Laurie, are you on the same file right now?
Laurie Wachter: I'll open it.
Sonam: Ok
Laurie Wachter: OK It's open. I found that 2 pictures (one's I hadn't replaced yet with "Saved for Web" jogs from Photoshop)
Sonam: Ok, in the plan view
Laurie Wachter: Yet
Laurie Wachter: I mean yes
Sonam: To the right of the "size" slider, can you see desktop, tablet, phone written?
Laurie Wachter: Yes
Sonam: Please click on Desktop
Laurie Wachter: I am on desktop now.
Sonam: It is the Desktop version, you are creating, right?
Laurie Wachter: All three
Sonam: And the content is missing from which version?
Laurie Wachter: all three
Laurie Wachter: When I opened the tablet and phone it was there for an instant and then disappeared.
Sonam: Oh, all right. Then, I believe the file got corrupted which caused this issue
Laurie Wachter: How?
Sonam: I'd suggest you to work on the older version of the file, if you have.
Laurie Wachter: I'd like to understand how so that I can be sure it doesn't happen again.
Laurie Wachter: Let me tell you the problem I was having when it happened.
Sonam: Was it saved on a local drive?
Laurie Wachter: Yes
Laurie Wachter: I mean I guess so, unless Muse saves directly to the cloud. How do I find out?.
Sonam: Could you please tell me the size of the Muse file?
Sonam: File panel->Save as
Laurie Wachter: OK I confirmed it is saved locally.
Sonam: You may browse to the location you want to save it to
Sonam: Ok, and what was the size of the file?
Laurie Wachter: The lost file was something larger than 22 MB. It is now 5MB
Laurie Wachter: I had a lot of photos in it. I saved them all for between 100 and 200 KB after researching the optimum size for a long time.
Sonam: Ok, it is really strange. I have come across this issue for the first time.
Laurie Wachter: Lucky me!
Sonam: I'd suggest you to always save your file as a backup before you make major changes.
Laurie Wachter: Is that size file unusually long?
Laurie Wachter: I mean large?
Sonam: No, it is not.
Sonam: We have files a lot larger then that, working smoothly.
Laurie Wachter: I had 6 pages with a slideshow on each. Each slideshow had 4-12 images. Each image was around 150-200KB. I also had additional pages with images of a similar size. I also placed these same images into the tablet and phone versions of the site, though I used fewer slideshows, but the same number of images.
Laurie Wachter: The problem occurred when I was trying to create a mobile menu by placing a menu inside an accordion widget. That worked fine, but then I placed a logo PNG file in the upper part of the accordion widget. I couldn't click on the image itself in Preview to get the drop down to work. If I clicked above or below it (still within the tab), it worked fine. The logo was slightly smaller than the tab.
Laurie Wachter: I don't understand
Laurie Wachter: a) why the png file created a problem with the drop down function.
Laurie Wachter: b) why the filed was corrupted.
Sonam: Laurie, such issues are not supported here.
Laurie Wachter: Is there somewhere else I can find out?
Sonam: What I'd suggest you is, to post this query on the Adobe Forums. We have our engineering team, which replies to all the forum queries
Sonam: They will be able to assist you better on this.
Laurie Wachter: I was asking about the accordion issue when this happened. I think they wanted to see it!
Laurie Wachter: Anyway, Sonam, thanks for your help. Glad to know it wasn't my file size or number or size of photos that caused the problem.
Laurie Wachter: Have a great day/night.
Sonam: You are most welcome Laurie
Sonam: Apologies that I wasn't able to help you this time.
Sonam: You too have a great day!
Laurie Wachter: No worries. I'll just rebuild the parts that I did these last couple of days. It was a lot of work, but sine it was recent, I should be able to sort it out.
Sonam:
