Re: My MacBook Pro has died. How do I un-install my Lightroom, to then be able to re-install it on another Mac?

Ned, I think you misunderstand me and the use of the term "honour system".

The term is used elsewhere on the Adobe's forums but, at the end of the day, it's not my concept, it's Adobe's.

Re: How can I deactivate LR 4.1?

I'm not disagreeing with you. Perhaps it's just the terminology being used that's causing confusion. We've had this discussion before how many times can i install LR5?

I agree with your post but there is no activation mechanism in Lightroom so there's no need to call Adobe to deactivate Lightroom.

All I'm saying is that there is no technical limitation to installing Lightroom on more than two computers. It's effectively an honour system, just like Adobe software used to be pre- the activation mechanism which now polices the two activations limit.

If they install Lightroom in more than two computers then they are in breach of the EULA.

Agreed, the EULA permits a maximum of two activations at the same time. The Lightroom software does nothing to stop more. That's up to the user to abide by the EULA.

This point is made in the Lightroom forum regularly.
