Hi dennbern, the bit you see on the 3:35 frame is a pattern that I found to use as a reference on how to achieve the kind of effect you were looking for found here: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/67/Homebrew_reaction_diffusion_example_512iter. jpg but like I said if you play around with the setting but use the same process you can achieve something very similar. I have just tweaked the setting I had and achieved this:
(this was created on 1000x1000 art board then I cropped the edges to finish, brush size of 31px, 400 spots on the art board, then recorded action of high pass setting 9.0, threshold setting of 102 and Gaussian blur setting of 4.6 then repeated 23 times then threshold of 190.
So very much like the frame you saw. :-)
The thing with the process is that you can achieve so many different outcomes and you will have to play around with the settings until you get what you want. If you want to add other looks you can throw a few lines into the original pattern like this:
outcome is this:
I hope this all helps you get the look you are after. :-)
