Can't save preferences/workspaces etc, in CC2014, PS says the file is locked. It isn't.

The actual error messae I get is:

"Could not save Preferences because the file is locked, you do not have necessary access permissions, or another program is using the file. Use the ‘Get Info’ command in the Finder to ensure the file is unlocked and you have permission to access the file. If the problem persists, save the document to a different file or duplicate it in the Finder."

The same thing happened when I moved from CS6 to CC, no one here knew the answer, but the Photoshop online help guy told me to move two files to my desktop, this fixed the problem, but I can't find those files in CC2014 they were: The Adobe Photoshop CC Settings folder, and the file: com.adobe.Photoshop.plist (I think, they're still on my desktop, but so is a lot of other stuff)

Does anyone here know how to fix this or where to find those files? I know how to get to the hidden stuff but can't see them. I love the look of the new features and can't wait to try them, but wile I can't save my settings I hafta stick with the 'old' CC.

PS: I get this message when I quit Photoshop and also when I try to sync or save settings, thanks in advance guys.
