Just to be clear, the file that you have linked - http://www.justdreamweaver.com/templates/metamorphic/index.html - it is a DEMO of the template but it contains no template markup (it would be silly for them to post the actual template like that, since anyone could just copy the code) and thus could not function as a real DW template. If you purchase that template, you would get a different file, one which
1. is named with a proper template extension (*.dwt)
2. contains relevant template markup
3. must be placed in your local root's Templates folder too function properly
So - is the file that you are editing named "index.dwt" and is it located in the Templates folder which is at the root level of your site?
Finally, I will suggest that before using any DW template, you take the time to familiarize yourself with how those things work. It is not intuitive and you can get yourself into deep trouble without this familiarity.
