Thanks, but my operating system (OS X version 10.6.8) does not have LaunchPad - it seems you need OS X Lion or later.  I tried what you said on a friend's newer laptop which has LaunchPad and still on "launching" or "opening" Adobe Reader no place comes up to "sign" or "agree to" an End User Agreement.

However, problem solved by re-installing Adobe 11.0.07 but again no page appears to sign or accept.
